Question: I have heard ever since I was a child that people have tried to harm and separate my parents with witchcraft because of some domestic dispute. It is mostly directed at my father. My father ever since I can remember is a man of two sides. He can be a good person for a couple of months and totally withdraw for three months. He won't even speak to us when he withdraws. The disturbing thing is that days before we can tell he is starting to withdraw weird things start to happen around the house. The main thing is that in the middle of the night we can hear some sort of birds flying around the house screeching very loudly. On one recent occasion, my father went outside at night and saw a huge black bird standing in our driveway. It then just flew away. We only have four years living in our house and these same things have followed us from our old house. The thing that is the most dissapointing is that my father is already baptized but is not a very good person. He hasn't been to church for almost a year now and blames us. To be honest, I don't know what to think. Are the things that happen around my house normal or are they from sinister people, and if they are, how can we do away with them?

Answer: There is definitely a certain dark power in witchcraft. There are also demonic spirits that can attack a person and torment his mind, even after he is baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. We do not think you should consider the birds an issue.

We suggest that you commit yourself to regular periods of prayer and fasting. We also suggest that you discuss this situation with your spiritual leaders. Perhaps you could inlist others to pray and fast with you until deliverance comes. It sounds as though the adversary is attempting to destroy your spiritual life and the lives of your family members. We believe you should take this matter very seriously, remembering that victory is to be found only in the Lord. He is above all principalities and powers and can sweep them out of your home with the wisp of his little finger. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
