Question: What does the Bible say about making promises?

Answer: The Bible says that we should be like God, who always keeps His word. He never makes promises and then breaks them the way some people do. Ecclesiastes 5:5 says,
'Better not to vow than to vow and not pay' (NKJV). The New Living Translation says, 'It is better to say nothing than to make a promise and not keep it.' Psalms 15:1-4 says, 'Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord?
Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts...and keep their promises even when it hurts.'
