Question: Was Mary the first apostle?

Answer: No, there is no mention in the Bible of Mary being named an apostle. She was, however, the first one Jesus sent to tell the apostles that He had risen from the dead. In the broad sense that the word 'apostle' means 'one who is sent on a mission,' I guess we could say that she was the first apostle after the resurrection. But she was never named an apostle as was Peter and John and the others.
