Question: What are the the different names of God and their meanings?

Answer: In the Old Testament God revealed as Yahweh-yirah (Yahweh provides), Yahweh-shalom (Yahweh is peace), Yahweh-rapha (Yahweh heals), Yahweh-nissi (Yahweh my banner), Yahweh-tsidkenu (Yahweh our righteousness), and other similar compound names. But today there is only one name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and that is the name JESUS. This name is actually the anglicized version of the Hebrew name Yeshua, which means Yahweh is salvation. The idea of salvation encompasses the substance of all the other descriptive names.
