Question: Sir, what is the meaning of Malachi 4:5-6?

Answer: Malachi 4:5-6 says, 'Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 6 And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.' This is a prophecy of the last days before the coming of the Lord Jesus. It was partially fulfilled in John the Baptist, of whom it was said, 'He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord' (Luke 1:17). We believe that in the last days others will come in the spirit and power of Elijah to make ready a people prepared for the second coming of the Lord, just as John prepared them for His first coming.
