Question: What is meant by 'the wrath to come' in Matthew 3:7? I think it means the end-time judgment of God. Is this correct?

Answer: Yes, we believe John the Baptist is referring to the outpouring of God's wrath at the time of the second coming of Christ. We can escape this wrath by obeying the New Testament plan of salvation (Acts 2:38). As Paul wrote, 'For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him' (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).
