Question: I am reading some questions and responses about the Rapture and great tribulation. I am using john 14:2 as a reference that the church will not experience the great tribulation. Might I suggest that you can research ancient Jewish wedding customs and how the Lord spoke of these traditions to His disciples, and to us, in this present age. Futhermore, what would be the point of the Holy Spirit to be removed from earth to reveal the man of lawlessness and leave the church defenseless? ref. 2 Thessalonians chap 2.

Answer: Jesus will indeed come for us as a groom comes for His bride. This will happen after a time of severe tribulation which will purify the people of God for their intended husband. We see no contradiction between this and John 14:2. Also, there is nothing in 2 Thessalonians 2 that states that the Holy Spirit will be removed from the earth. That idea is silly on the face of it. How did you ever come up with such an impossible doctrine?
