What about radio preachers?

Question: That is what I thought, that we should not be listening to people who are not of the same faith, baptism, doctrine, etc. I told that to my family who has been walking with God longer than I and they said God uses anyone. So I started to listen to the radio preaching. I was often bothered by the fact that they listened to T.D. Jakes and W. Bynum, Joyce Meyers etc. because they are not in the truth entirely. But yet they still buy their materials. Can you more clearly expound on your reason for writing about not listening to preachers on the radio? My family is of the same Apostolic faith. Also, one of the churches I was attending had material that was not of the same faith but I didn't understand why they were using the material if the speakers were not of the same faith. That was the other reason I was unsure.

Answer: We must always be careful who we listen to and pray for the ability to discern truth and error. As John wrote, 'Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world' (1 John 4:1).
