It is hard to repent when you think that sin will come back in the next breath. If that were true, I never would have repented. I don't know the answer to the situation, but in my opinion, Galatians 5:16 may help your son understand the power of the Holy Spirit: 'This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.' GOD doesn't just utter unknown tongues and heal the sick, he gives us a new heart and mind so that we may walk above sin.
