God does not tempt anyone, but he does allow our adversary, the devil, to bring temptation our way. God then stands ready to provide us with a way out of the temptation (see 1 Corinthians 10:13). The Bible specifically states that God does not tempt anyone and that Satan is 'the tempter' (see 1 Thessalonians 3:5).
