Question: If Jesus were to come right now, will those who are not baptized in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38) and do not believe that Jesus is the Almighty God be save?

Answer: First of all, Jesus could come for any one of us right now by simply allowing death to overtake us. This means that we must all be ready to meet Jesus at every moment, regardless of where we are in the end-time scenario. The Bible says that Jesus will punish with everlasting destruction all who do not know God and/or do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 1:8-9). This means that to be saved a person must obey the gospel, which means repenting and being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38). Those who do this are given the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32). They must then continue on living by faith, which results in an steady growth in the knowledge of God. Some people get baptized but never go on to know the Lord. God is looking for people who have done it all. It is always difficult to know for certain where a person is in their relationship with God. We must therefore teach people the truth about what it takes to be saved but leave it with God to determine who is saved and who is not.
